Pipe Major HP03 first began learning bagpipes when he was about eight years old and when a teenager became determined to become a champion on the instrument and spent his pocket money on the very best tuition.
He was a piper in the Waltham Forest Pipe Band, The Blue Bonnets, City of London Pipe band and then 1st Battalion Scots Guards Pipe Band.
He attended Piping Courses at Edinburgh Castle where he gained his coveted Pipe Majors Certificate and stayed there for three years as an Instructor of Army Bagpiping.
Since leaving the Army his skills were sought by the British Airways Pipe Band, of which he is now Pipe Major.
He is also Pipe Major of the Scottish Piping Society of London, having also previously served as their President.
HP03 is a highly skilled Solo Piper and is still winning solo events both in Scotland and in England.
He has much experience and enjoys playing at functions, celebrations, recitals, recordings, Weddings and Funerals etc. in full Highland Kilt attire.
This piper can play at many key points throughout a wedding from as guests arrive at the church, to piping the bride down the aisle. During the signing of the register, piping the bride and groom out of the church and even for a period during the photos.
This is the most popular service but it can be extended if you wish and he can continue through to the reception venue and play for a time during the drinks reception and finishing as he pipes the newlyweds through to the wedding breakfast.
He has a huge repertoire to call on and will be happy to discuss any requirements for your day with you.

Losing a loved one is never easy but with more people putting an emphasis on a celebration of the persons’ life rather than the sadness of loss, a Highland Piper is very popular but still offers comfort to family and friends.
From leading the hearse from the house, welcoming guests to the church or crematorium, Piping at the graveside or the scattering of the ashes, a highland piper can evoke a sense of calm and dignity to this sad occasion.
