Dennis Barr - Highland Piper
I started piping in 1950 in Detroit, playing in four bands. The Chrysler Highlanders, St. Andrews Pipe Band, Clan Macrae Pipe Band and was 'Pipe Major' for 12 years. I retired in 1990 and moved to Orlando Florida. Here I started a band, 'The Central Florida Police Pipe Band. I remained 'Pipe Major' until earlier this year (2001), when I retired from playing in bands. I am still available for private functions, such as weddings and funerals.
