Highland Piper - Alan
Gagan
Alan started playing the pipes from the early age
of 7 and was competing by the age of 9. His teachers were Joe Swarbrick
and the late George Walkingshaw, who was the brother of Bob Walkingshaw
who was the founding Pipe Major of the Chorley Pipe Band.
Alan has been a competition bagpiper in the Chorley Pipe Band since the
age of 9 and has travelled the length and breadth of England and
Scotland taking part in various contests including all the major
championships like the World Championship in Glasgow and the Dunoon
Cowal Championship.
Weddings
Alan can play for you at the church, prior to the service, processional
and recessional music and for a suitable time afterwards whilst the
photos are taken.
Then if required it is off too the reception meal for the traditional
line-up and piping the bride and groom to the top table.
Weddings, Birthday Parties, Burns Suppers and any other Social Event are
Alan’s specialty with various novelty tunes available for selection if
required. |
